Who we are
Raby Enterprises Inc. is a privately owned Georgia corporation, incorporated in 2004 and headquartered in Cleveland, Georgia, a small town in the northeast Georgia mountains about 90 minutes northeast of Atlanta, near Helen. Our shop sits on the property where our founder grew up and built his first engine for a paying customer at age 13.
The company operates several businesses under one roof: engine design and building for air-cooled and water-cooled Porsche® and Volkswagen® engines, in-house machining, app development, technical training through The Knowledge Gruppe, and Mechanical Classroom, a hands-on mechanical learning program for students from elementary school through college. Kits and experiences are available for schools, and for individuals and families who want the experience at home. Raby Enterprises Inc. will be the publisher of record for our mobile apps on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Our founder
Jacob "Jake" Raby is an inventor, entrepreneur and engine builder. He founded Raby's Aircooled Technology, which since the late 1990s has built air-cooled engines for customers around the world, and Flat 6 Innovations, which developed some of the first complete reconstruction programs for the Porsche M96/M97 engine family in partnership with LN Engineering, including the IMS Retrofit and IMS Solution. Jake designs, machines and builds engines himself, much of it on in-house Haas CNC equipment.
How we work
Every engine is built one at a time, by hand, for a specific owner and car. We would rather take the time to get it right than build in volume. The same approach carries into our training and our apps: they exist to give owners and technicians clear, accurate information.
