Engine design, development and hand-building for air-cooled and water-cooled Porsche® and Volkswagen® engines, at our shop in Cleveland, Georgia. In-house first, specialized services by inquiry.
Hand-built air-cooled engines for vintage Porsche® 356, 912, 912E and 914 cars (air-cooled Volkswagen® and Pinzgauer engines by inquiry), plus fuel injection systems, cylinder heads, DTM cooling systems and racing engines. Every engine is designed, machined and assembled at our Cleveland, Georgia shop and dyno-tested before delivery.
Rebuilt and upgraded Porsche® M96 and M97 engines for the 1997–2008 Boxster, Cayman and 911 (996/997), from the stock-performance "Stocker" to street, track and competition builds, plus 996/997 Turbo and 9A1/9A2 work. FSI's builds address known failure modes such as bore scoring and intermediate shaft (IMS) bearing issues. Working with LN Engineering, FSI helped develop the IMS Retrofit and IMS Solution.
The parts in our engines are largely made in-house by Raby Machine Works. Engine-building training, including the M9X Engine Assembly video series, is offered through The Knowledge Gruppe.
Engine development work is done first for our own engine programs, R.A.T. and Flat 6 Innovations. This is not a job shop and we don't publish prices, but anyone with a specialized need is welcome to reach out and we'll tell you whether we can help.
